plop. is anonymous messaging. No account, no email, no data stored.
Type a room name on the homepage or use a shared link.
Any name, no account needed. Stay completely anonymous.
Send messages, files, voice notes, GIFs. Everything disappears when you close the tab.
Your username is your only identity on plop.
Letters, numbers, _ and # only. Maximum 24 characters.
Valid examples: ghost_42 Alice user_123
You can pre-fill your username directly in the URL:
plop.fr/?myroom#myusername
Handy for sharing a link and joining a room with your username already set.
A trip code lets you prove your identity without creating an account.
Add #password at the end of your username:
Username#mypassword
The server automatically generates a short unique code (e.g. b7+KCo) visible to everyone next to your username. This code is always the same for the same password.
The trip code proves you are the same person across sessions without revealing your real identity. It's your "anonymous signature".
Rooms are created on the fly — all you need is a URL.
plop.fr/?my-room-name
Everything after the ? is the room name. If the room doesn't exist, it's created automatically.
Use long, hard-to-guess names for more privacy:

Lock your room so only people with the full link can join.

Type /claimchannel in chat. Solve the captcha.

Become the owner of a room to manage it.
When you claim a room, you become its owner for 7 days. Your trip code is linked to the room.
Next time you return with the same trip code, you're automatically recognised as the owner.

Click the 📎 icon in the message bar. You can choose a file, take a photo, or film directly from your camera.
Hold the microphone button (right of the bar) to record. Release to send automatically.
Export your conversations in encrypted form.
Click the 💾 icon in the chat topbar. An encrypted file is downloaded to your device.
Click the ⬆️ (load) icon in the topbar. Select your file. History appears greyed out before current messages.
